Job Description: 

Temple University Harrisburg is seeking an energetic, highly motivated, self-starter to manage Temple University Harrisburg marketing strategy and ensure alignment with the overall University College and Temple University marketing messaging and campaigns. The incumbent will be part of a strategic communication and marketing team responsible for identifying and fulfilling marketing needs to increase recruitment for all Temple Harrisburg programs, including its feeder programs to the university.  Specifically the Marketing Specialist will coordinate print, electronic, web, advertising and social media; prepare all recruitment materials to attract new students/participants; monitor and assess the impact of all marketing efforts. The Marketing Specialist will also carry out projects, such as gift procurement, managing of special events, supervision of video production, and other related activities as needed. The Marketing Specialist will report to the Director of Temple University Harrisburg while also taking direction from the Director of Conference/Program Services. The incumbent will serve as a member of the University College marketing team and coordinate strategy with other University College units. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or a related field.

  • At least two years of related experience including using Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

  • Comfort with and appreciation for diverse cultures.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Windows Suite.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of how to use social media, photography and video in marketing campaigns.

  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience in admissions or marketing preferably at a college or university.

  • Experience planning and executing events.

  • Experience with university students and/or deep interest in university students.
