Self-Neglect, Medical Issues and Executive Functioning Enrichment Training

Self-neglect investigations require an assessment of cognitive and medical diagnoses. Impaired executive function is not as easily identified as impaired memory. Depression, dementia, vascular issues, hoarding behaviors and other diagnoses complicate investigations. This training will examine executive functioning and other diagnoses and explore how to assess the consumer's abilities, limitations and needs when allegations of self-neglect are received. Linda Shumaker, RN and Lori Knockstead will teach this training.

Social Media and Drug Diversion Enrichment Training

The use of social media and electronic communication has never been greater. This course will provide information on the evidence available on social media and electronic communication as well as practices for gathering and utilizing this type of evidence.

There is also a growing issue of drug diversion and medication theft in facilities. When should a PS investigation for medication theft be completed? This training will answer this question and provide information on how to investigate reports of drug theft. The importance of collaborating with licensing and law enforcement will also be reviewed.
