Our Community

Director, Temple University Harrisburg

The senseless death of George Floyd and similar tragedies that have taken the lives of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and countless others are just a continuation of centurieslong degradation of Black lives in America. The unjust circumstances expose the current threatening reality of Black men and women living anywhere in our country. As an educational institution, Temple University is committed to educating all within our community about our unfortunate history of racism and oppression, and our belief that all should enjoy full freedom and respect.

This is a historic time of social change in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the recognition that violence against and disfranchisement of people of color must be addressed now. Temple University Harrisburg is dedicated to embracing and celebrating the strength that diversity brings to our community. We honor all who are on the front lines rallying, communicating and collaborating to eradicate the systemic racism that underlies our society.
